MAC- Year of the Rooster 2017

Hi Lovelies
This Chinese New Year is about looking ahead and chasing your dreams! Mac Cosmetics have come out with some gorgeous limited edition packaging for the Year Of The Rooster with stunning reds for the lips and  satin-soft shades inspired by snow blossoms for the lids and cheeks.

The boxes themselves have a gorgeous design of snow blossoms with black velvet detailing and the products themselves are in the original packaging.

Year Of The Rooster
Eyeshadow x9

The Year Of The Rooster palette features a colour wave of snow blossom-inspired hues.

Mac's new x9 eyeshadow palettes are great travel palettes because of their  compact size and number of eyeshadows. In the Year Of The Rooster all the matte and satin shadow are very pigmented where as the lustres are very sparkly and seem to just leave glitter instead of any shadow. My favourite shadows from this collection would have to be Wedge, Mulch and Girlie.

First Row-
Sweet Lust (Lustre) Pinky-Rose
Wedge (Matte) Soft muted beige-taupe
Mulch (Velvet) Red-brown with bronze pearl

Second Row-
Honey Lust (Lustre) Bronze dipped-peach
Girlie (Satin) Rosey- Pink
Shale (Satin) Mauve plum with subtle shimmer

Third Row-
Idol Eyes (lustre) Silvered violet with gold
Copperplate (Matte) Muted mid-tone grey
Print (Satin) Muted grey with shimmer

Peach Blossom (Cremesheen) Frosted cool nude.
A perfect everyday shade with a hint of shine.

Dangerous (Retro Matte) Orangey red matte.
I was surprised how orange this lipstick was when swatched as it appears quite red in the tube. Retro matte lipsticks can be quite drying on the lips but they have amazing staying power.

Powder Blush
'Dame' is sophisticated blue-pink (satin)
A gorgeous subtle blush that looks nice and natural on your cheeks, it appears baby pink with a very small amount of shimmer and a slightly purple/mauve undertone. It is very buildable and i'd suggest using a light hand when applying Dame.

This collection launches in Smith & Caughey’s Queen Street, Mac Botany and Mac Westfield Riccarton.
