Kylie Cosmetics- Summer Collection

 Hi Lovelies
When I heard Kylie Cosmetics were having free International shipping for a few days I new I had to finally purchase the Summer Collection! Kylie bought these three lip kits out a few months ago and I had held off because One- it first sold out in minutes and Two- shipping is quite pricey when you start adding up how much you have bought from the website each time. But i'm so glad I purchased Kristen, Ginger and Maliboo all very wearable shades for every skin tone, and just in time as it is finally becoming Summer here in New Zealand.
If your new to Kylie Cosmetics, the brand was created by Kylie Jenner also known as the youngest sister of the Kardashians. She first came out with 'Kylie Lip Kits' which contain a lip liner with a matching liquid lipstick. When these first came out they were so hard to purchase because they would just sell out in minutes. Since then the company have gotten better at restocking their lip kits and have now come out with an eyeshadow palette, lip glosses, eye liners and metallic liquid lipsticks.
You can check out my first ever purchase from Kylie Cosmetics here where I purchased Candy K and Poise K.

Kylie Lip Kits come in these gorgeous boxes, her packaging is so well made and again if you new to these lip kits each box is colour coordinated to the shade of liquid lipstick and lip liner.
The Kylie Lip Kits are $29USD which equal to about $41 NZD which aren't too bad of a price when you think of the lip liner and liquid lipstick being $20.50 each which is basically drugstore price.

This time round I feel like these Matte Liquid Lipsticks feel less drying to the previous shades I've bought before and they don't feel like i'm wearing a liquid lipstick at all! I've heard Kylie is constantly improving her formula so this could be the reason why.
They still have the yummy vanilla cupcake scent, which I love personally, some people think its so over powering, but once applied on your lip the scent fades away.

I cannot rave enough about these lip liners they are the best liners I've used to date. They are so creamy and glide on effortlessly. Plus they are made to match the liquid lipstick they come with.
Kylie was clever to include a matching lip liner because I find with liquid lipsticks you either can't find a matching lipliner or when applying a liquid lipstick it bleeds and I find I've over drawn my lips way more than I intended.

The third family member Kylie has named her lip kit after 'Kristen' is named after Kylie's Mum Kris Jenner. Previous shades Koko K named after Khloe Kardashian and Kourt K after Kourtney Kardashian.
Kristen has to be my favourite shade out of the three, described as a warm brown berry. I'd also describe it as a deep strawberry shade. In this kit, the lip liner appears slightly lighter than the liquid lipstick but when paired together you can't see the difference.
If you love reds and berry shades this is definitely the one to get!

Ginger is described as a warm terracotta brown. To compare it to Dolce K which also looks like a nude brown on my skin tone and described as a deep beige nude. Ginger is definitely much darker this would look gorgeous on tan to darker skin tones as a nude.
The lip liner and liquid lipstick matched perfectly. I can only see myself wearing Ginger on nights out or if i'm feeling brave to wear it in the day time because it is a very bold statement lip shade.

At first I wasn't sure about purchasing this shade as I thought I would never wear it, as it looked quite light in tone. Because when your girl is shopping for liquid lipsticks I want them to be wearable, even though I like to collect lipstick collections I don't always buy those out there shades like- yellow, blue and grey etc.
But once I saw a few more swatches on people and heard everyone raving about it I though it would make the Summer Collection a real collection to blog about.
Maliboo is described as a light cool-toned nude, which is quite a unique shade the closest dupe I found to it was Lime Crime's 'Cashmere' which is still more beige/grey and Maliboo looks slightly more pinky next to Cashmere.
The lip liner is surprisingly a bit darker than the liquid lipstick but it does help define the lips from looking to washed out and I noticed one the liquid lipstick dried it blended nicely with the lip liner.

Let me know if you want a review on any of the other shades from the Kylie Lip Kits. So far I have only review Candy K and Poise K- review here
